BLINKERS STUDENT NIGHT

NEWCASTLE RACECOURSE

We're getting prepped for an interesting Friday night's racing at Newcastle's All Weather Course. We have a six race card running from 5:30pm until 8:00pm, so plenty of opportunity to pick up one or two winners, although needless to say securing a profit from a single night's racing is no easy task.

With that in mind, be sure to only bet what you're comfortable losing, don't go hammering your student loan ;-), and of course feel free to do your own thing if horses we haven't tipped call out to you on the night.

We'll aim to get the tips posted below by 12 Midday on Friday, and I'll fire over an alert to the email address you've registered with us, so you'll have plenty of time to get them on early if you like.

Usually, you'll get better odds by shopping around online using an odds comparison tool such as https://oddschecker.com, although I have to admit it's a lot more fun placing bets on the course (and collecting a wedge of cash if you win!).

Wishing you a great night, and best of luck!

5:30pm - Class 5 Novice Stakes, 10 Furlongs

It's difficult to looks past odds on shot Allieyf, but both Beauty Salon & Charles Kingsley look to have a decent chance at a better price. Preference is for the latter, as he'll likely be among the leaders out of the stalls and has won at this distance before, albeit on a different surface.

Tip - #1 Charles Kingsley to win, currently 7/2.

"I Just Want A Winner" -  #3 Allieyf  to win, currently 4/5.

6:00pm - Class 7 Handicap, 8 Furlongs

Although favourite Jai Hanuman has had a couple of close calls recently, Highwayman seems to have just as much going for him at twice the price, and Lukoutoldmakezebak looks interesting due to a couple of wins at Newcastle this time last year.

Tip - #8 Highwayman to win, currently 4/1.

Value Play - #13 Lukoutoldmakezebak each way, currently 10/1.

6:30pm - Class 5 Handicap, 5 Furlongs

It's a hair's breadth between Jan Van Hoof and Epeius in terms of ability, but the latter's poor draw may give him trouble. Archimedes just missed out on the win last time out when going head to head with the former, but could well turn the tables this time round.

Tip - #3 Jan Van Hoof to win, currently 2/1.

Value Play - #6 Archimedes each way, currently 8/1.

7:00pm - Class 5 Maiden Staken, 8 Furlongs

Another odds on favourite here with Severnaya, the one to go for if you just want a winner at any price. However, a positive case can be made for Blindingly, with a close second at Newcastle recently and a trainer with plenty of experience on this course.

Tip - #1 Blindingly to win, currently 7/2.

"I Just Want A Winner" - #12 Severyana to win, currently 10/11.

7:30pm - Class 5 Handicap, 6 Furlongs

The less daring among us wouldn't look far past Solar Park or Edgewood here, but Klopp is the sole runner who has won at Newcastle previously, and gets the vote at a tasty pice.

Tip - #3 Klopp to win, currently 6/1.

"I Just Want A Winner" - #2 Solar Park to win, currently 10/11.

8:00pm - Class 7 Handicap, 5 Furlongs

None of the market leaders look particularly interesting, but Novabridge and Displaying Amber are both in fair form, and have a good chance of making it into the frame.

Tip - #8 Novabridge each way, currently 9/1.

Value Play - #2 Displaying Amber each way, currently 10/1.
